Growing a Legacy: 120 Trees Planted in Honor of ILEA, Thanks to Grand Event Rentals
As Earth Month draws to a close, it leaves behind a powerful reminder: every action we take on behalf of the planet plants a seed — of change, of progress, of hope.
In a meaningful tribute to sustainability and community, Grand Event Rentals partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 120 trees in the Superior National Forest. This initiative honors the International Live Events Association (ILEA) and its longstanding commitment to connection, celebration, and legacy within the events industry.
Why It Matters
This forest restoration effort will generate enough oxygen to support 480 people and offset the carbon equivalent of removing 12 vehicles from the road for an entire year. But the impact is deeper than the numbers. Located in Minneapolis, home to one of ILEA’s most vibrant chapters, the Superior National Forest is rich with biodiversity and home to several threatened species. Restoring this vital ecosystem strengthens watersheds, rebuilds habitats, and protects the natural beauty that inspires so many of our events.

This quote, included on the Arbor Day Foundation certificate, resonates deeply with the spirit of the live events industry — rooted in community and purpose. Eddie Redman, of Grand Event Rentals, originally envisioned this initiative on an even larger scale, dreaming of planting across multiple cities. But as ILEA President Melissa A. Jurcan eloquently stated, “Taking the first step is always monumental.” And this step will grow into something truly lasting.
